About –

When nineteen-year-old huntress Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, a beast-like creature arrives to demand retribution for it. Dragged to a treacherous magical land she only knows about from legends, Feyre discovers that her captor is not an animal, but Tamlin—one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled their world.

As she dwells on his estate, her feelings for Tamlin transform from icy hostility into a fiery passion that burns through every lie and warning she’s been told about the beautiful, dangerous world of the Fae. But an ancient, wicked shadow grows over the faerie lands, and Feyre must find a way to stop it . . . or doom Tamlin—and his world—forever.

My Review

I have to say I was a little nervous to read A Court of Thorns and Roses purely because I had seen so many good reviews and normally when a book is so hyped up, it really disappoints. I hadn’t read Throne of Glass or any of the books in that series so I didn’t know what to expect from Maas.

But, It was so easy to fall in love with A Court of Thorns and Roses! It was an insanely quick and easy book to read, despite being 432 pages. I read it in one sitting and the time flew right by!.img_20160519_201756

I am typically a character driven reader and it is no surprise that the strongest aspect of the novel for me was Feyre. Sarah really has a gift for creating these wonderfully awesome (in the old school sense of the word) perfectly flawed ladies. I loved Feyre’s character. I loved that she was prickly and reserved, hard hearted and cold in her turns.

Feyre has lived a hard life as the only source of income for her family in the long years since their fall from prosperity. When she essentially has to give up her freedom to save both her life and her family it is a pill bitterly swallowed and the reader feels it palpably.

I absolutely ADORED the faerie lore, politics, and history. Sarah J. Maas has created a freaking EPIC world and the fact that it tied into Beauty and the Beast just made it even better.

A Court of Thorns and Roses is a darkly glittering, magically twisted tale of faerie.  As with all things Sarah, each book in the series is bound to only get better and better. I am so eager to see where she will take this story. When all is said and done I place my faith that we will find Feyre victorious.

I’ll give this book 5/5 stars and Yes, it is a must read.

Book Review- The Heart Of Betrayal by Mary E. Pearson

Hello everyone, I am super happy this month and craving for more and more books after my reading slumps. But thanks to myself cause I have many pending books in my TBR list, So have to complete them first.Coming to the point-Let’s talk about Thr Heart Of Betrayal.

1516396_1717154901894371_127045733_n.jpg

About-

Held captive in the barbarian kingdom of Venda, Lia and Rafe have little chance of escape. Desperate to save Lia’s life, her erstwhile assassin, Kaden, has told the Vendan Komizar that she has the gift, and the Komizar’s interest in Lia is greater than anyone could have foreseen.

Meanwhile, nothing is straightforward: There’s Rafe, who lied to Lia but has sacrificed his freedom to protect her; Kaden, who meant to assassinate her but has now saved her life; and the Vendans, whom Lia always believed to be savages. Now that she lives among them, however, she realizes that may be far from the truth. Wrestling with her upbringing, her gift, and her sense of self, Lia must make powerful choices that will affect her country… and her own destiny.

My Review –

The heart of betrayal is the second book in “The Remnant Series”.The first book was ‘The kiss of deception’ which I absolutely loved.

In The Heart of Betrayal, Lia and Rafe are taken to Venda to live at the mercy of the Komizar. Lia has no allies in Venda, though she starts to build small alliances with unexpected citizens. There is something about Venda that is unlike anything Lia has experienced. Her gift changes and starts taken shape. Lia begins to see things in Venda that she has n seen before. All the while, Lia has drawn the Komizar’s interest, and not a good interest. Rafe lies his way into staying alive, with everyone believing that he is the Royal Emissary of the Dalbreck crown prince. With each passing day, it is clear that there are no rules to survival, and both must do what they can to have a chance at escaping.

I enjoyed the second book too maybe not as much as I did The Kiss Of Deception. I found it a little slow-paced for my own liking, majority of the book was written to explain the back story of the Vendans, which I really appreciated. I appreciated that the back story wasn’t compromised, but then again I’ve been craving for some action, but this craving wasn’t really satisfied not until the end part of the book, which made a lot of difference, I think I held my breath more than humanly possible because of that ending. It was intense and gripping, it sure made up for all the dragging parts of the book.

I also like the mysterious “gift” part of the series plot though. A lot of it revolves around Venda, curiously. And yet, I feel more lost, in terms of Lia’s gift, and its connection to Venda. Hopefully all will be explained in book three.

So until then, let’s all hold hands just to get through this whole ordeal of waiting for the third book.

I’ll give this book  4/5 stars.

“Confluence-a coming together by chance.. Together they become something greater, but it isn’t delicate or sweet. Like a raging river, a confluence can lead to something impossible to predict or control… Yet sometimes the coming together, the confluence of destinies, seemed not to be by chance at all.”

About The Book

One Life to One Dawn.

Shahrzad is determined not only to stay alive, but to end the caliph’s reign of terror once and for all.

Night after night, Shahrzad beguiles Khalid, weaving stories that enchant, ensuring her survival, though she knows each dawn could be her last. But something she never expected begins to happen: Khalid is nothing like what she’d imagined him to be. This monster is a boy with a tormented heart. Incredibly, Shahrzad finds herself falling in love. How is this possible? It’s an unforgivable betrayal. Still, Shahrzad has come to understand all is not as it seems in this palace of marble and stone. She resolves to uncover whatever secrets lurk and, despite her love, be ready to take Khalid’s life as retribution for the many lives he’s stolen. Can their love survive this world of stories and secrets?

My Thoughts

I absolutely adored this book, it has  such a strong storyline , characters, twists and plots. It has everything to make you fall in love with it.

Renee Ahdieh is brilliant!!… I flipped through the pages so quickly. I felt so many emotions and even felt conflicted sometimes. I love it when a story does that.

The ones who says Revenge only results in sadness should definitely read it because revenge plays a very vital part in it.Cause of revenge they met and fell in love. The story begins with the hatred.Hatred for a monstrous king- Kalid whom Shahrzad married to take revenge of her best friend’s murder but she slowly she fell in love with him.But The real story begins now!.The truth about the king,The curse?.The betrayal. It just keep getting better.

Can’t wait to read the next one in series as it is already out.I’m so curious but I’ll have to wait a little.

  • Characters I Loved –

I loved  almost all the characters but my favorite ones were Shahrzad(A really strong, fearless and lively girl), Jalal (in the beginning he’s a little annoying but you’ll love him at the end.) and Obviously Khalid.

Synopsis

After the 1st wave, only darkness remains. After the 2nd, only the lucky escape. And after the 3rd, only the unlucky survive. After the 4th wave, only one rule applies: trust no one.

Now, it’s the dawn of the 5th wave, and on a lonely stretch of highway, Cassie runs from Them. The beings who only look human, who roam the countryside killing anyone they see. Who have scattered Earth’s last survivors. To stay alone is to stay alive, Cassie believes, until she meets Evan Walker. Beguiling and mysterious, Evan Walker may be Cassie’s only hope for rescuing her brother-or even saving herself. But Cassie must choose: between trust and despair, between defiance and surrender, between life and death. To give up or to get up.

The 5th Wave is an emotionally intense science fiction adventure set in the aftermath of an alien invasion that has killed billions.

This is an excellent book. Rick Yancey, has delivered a remarkable tale that manages to revitalize the idea of an alien invasion, in which the aliens are brutally efficient without ever apparently leaving their space ship in orbit around the Earth. Although, admittedly, this book does not have any truly original ideas, all the elements it takes from other novels are pieced together in a way that makes them uniquely its own, and the characters are so strong that you do not care about any derivative tendencies.I fell in love with almost all the characters of the book instantly specially cassie and cute Sam.This is easily one of the best books I have read.Really excited to read next book in series.I’ll give oit 4/5 stars.

I’have quit the heart of betrayal and started “The Wrath and the dawn” may this book break my reading slumps.

Book Review – IGNITE ME by Tahereh Mafi (spoiler free)

12353868_478763042310127_285637813_n(1)

Yehh!……I’m so happy i finished this series but, sad too cause it’s over. It’s a bittersweet feeling.

So, If you have no idea about this series check out my reviews about shatter me (1 book) and unravel me(2 book). For those who read unravel me-With Omega Point destroyed, Juliette doesn’t know if the rebels, her friends, or even Adam are alive. But that won’t keep her from trying to take down The Reestablishment once and for all. Now she must rely on Warner, the handsome commander of Sector 45. The one person she never thought she could trust. The same person who saved her life. He promises to help Juliette master her powers and save their dying world . . . but that’s not all he wants with her.

As always there’s a lot of romance drama going on but you may be surprised to see between who but it was kind of clear in unravel me that not much was happening between Adam and Juliette so it’s doesn’t came as a twist. As i told you in the unravel me review i already liked Warner more than Adam so i was happy to see Warner’s character mingling with Juliette. It was kind of sweet.

Juliette’s character has evolved a lot in this in book and now I loved her like hell. She’s strong, fierce and mind blowing. Not just her character has evolved but her powers also advances.Warner on the other hand now seems a perfect match for her as his powers taking capabilities are awesome. He’s not mean anymore. His acts which seems non-human before are justified in this book. There’s a total character change of two people. One you already know is Warner and i don’t wanna spoil the other one. Kenji was as always so funny and lovely he’s the best.Total mood changer. He have supported Juliette a lot in this book.Adam found out in the previous book that Warner and he are brothers but Warner didn’t know till now.Well in this book he will and Warner’s reaction will be shocking.Warner shocked a lot in this book.

There’s a lot of action, drama, romance going, you”ll love it.I felt the ending was a little rushed and I mean yeah we like happy ending but i was expecting it to be bomb blasting types you know actually it was bomb blasting but i mean a little unexpected but it was fine.I loved it anyway.

I’ll give this book a 4/5 star and strongly recommend this series.đź’ś

“Words, I think, are such unpredictable creatures.
No gun, no sword, no army or king will ever be more powerful than a sentence. Swords may cut and kill, but words will stab and stay, burying themselves in our bones to become corpses we carry into the future, all the time digging and failing to rip their skeletons from our flesh.”

Thoughts on-IT ENDS WITH US by Colleen Hoover (spoiler free)

“It stops here. With me and you. It ends with us.”

― Colleen Hoover, It Ends with Us

Well have you ever just by chance stumble into anything that you loved for the rest of your life.I felt something like that with this book. When i picked it i was like okay, lets give it a try its just a book of 384 pages.384 pages just take one day and this one day made me love colleen hoover for the rest of the days of my life.I ended up falling in love with the book and the author so much that i think i’m gonna read each and every book written by colleen hoover and i mean it Each and Every.

This book is divided in two parts.In Part-1 it’s all about how lily come a long way from the small town in Maine to Boston, and started her own business. She fell in love with a gorgeous neurosurgeon named Ryle Kincaid. The story also moves in Lily’s past which is a mixture of good and bad things it tells how much her father abused her mother and about Atlas Corrigan—her first love and a link to the past she left behind. He was her kindred spirit, her protector.In part-2 Atlas suddenly reappears, everything Lily has built with Ryle is threatened.

The difference in both the parts are of just couple of pages.A couple of pages that changes Lily’s life and my thoughts about Ryle completely. It just took a couple of lines to make me hate a character i loved from previous 200 pages.

The first part is filled with so many aww.. moments, it’s just so beautiful watching them falling in love both the times with Ryle as well as with Atlas. And i cried in both the parts, happy tears for first part and i was literally crying in second one. This book is so capture your mind and you can’t think about anything else.I still remember i was so tried and my eyes were shutting but i just can’t stop reading.

I loved all the characters each and everyone even Ryle.I think i love every ounce of this book. From the first word to the last and those quotes in between, those lines they were so good.

From my perspective it was not just a story about a girl. It’s a story about a lot of women’s. A lot of women’s who are brave and bold, women’s who are lovely and intelligent who takes so many hard decisions for the sake of people they loved.

I LOVED IT SO MUCH….I’ll give this book 5/5 star.

BOOK REVIEW-THE CROWN by Kiera Cass (spoiler free)

12547577_460458774143072_772260976_n(1)

I did it!, I finally finished it.I’ll miss this series and specially the covers. They are so pretty. To be frank i didn’t enjoy the The Heir that much but The Crown was better.

When Eadlyn became the first princess of Illéa to hold her own Selection, she didn’t think she would fall in love with any of her thirty-five suitors. She spent the first few weeks of the competition counting down the days until she could send them all home. But as events at the palace force Eadlyn even further into the spotlight, she realizes that she might not be content remaining alone.Eadlyn still isn’t sure she’ll find the fairy tale ending her parents did twenty years ago. But sometimes the heart has a way of surprising you…and soon Eadlyn must make a choice that feels more impossible—and more important—than she ever imagined.

This has both served me well and disappointed me depending on which book in the series I am reviewing, as some of the books (The Selection, The One, The Heir) I’ve found decent, quick reads, while others (The Elite, the novellas, etc.) were a chore to read. I went into The Crown with high hopes, seeing as I much preferred Eadlyn to America as a protagonist, and there wasn’t that over the top angst love triangle to suffer through.

I liked the inversion of having a selection with male suitors, and the unique challenges and situations that it brought to the story. However, at the end of the day I found myself struggling to finish The Crown, which had the paradoxical feeling of being a slow read with a plot resolution that was far too fast.

The Crown isn’t a bad book, but it’s a book that did itself a disservice by the lack of focus on The Selection and cramming all of the interesting plot twists and resolutions into the last 20 pages. At the end of the day, at least I have a series of beautiful covers sitting on my shelf.

But again it’s my opinion.I’ll give 3/5 stars to this book.
